2019-2020 Contest

The 2019-2020 contest task was to Make a Mess and Clean It Up! The contest was held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Carnegie Science Center. Indian Creek High School received eighth place, Franklin Regional Senior High School finished in seventh place, Burgettstown Area High School garnered sixth place, Mohawk Area School District finished in fifth place, Pine Richland High School received fourth place, Cambria Heights High School received third place, Greater Latrobe Senior High School finished in second place, and congratulations to our first place team, Hempfield Area High School!

In addition to the finalist awards, many special awards were given out, with the winners receiving a tour of the award sponsor's facility. The Best Execution of a Theme award, sponsored by Kennywood, went to Brentwood High School. Best Use of Gravity, sponsored by Carnegie Science Center, went to Cambria Heights High School. The Most Innovative award, sponsored by Jones Day, went to Hempfield Area High School. The Rookie of the Year award went to Central Catholic High School and was sponsored by Carnegie Science Center. The Most Green machine was from Somerset Area Senior High School, and the award was sponsored by ALCOSAN. Penn Trafford High School received the Most Efficient Reset award, presented by Bayer HealthCare. Indian Creek High School earned the Robotics Institute - CMU award for Best Presentation. The What Will You Create award, sponsored by Inventionland, went to Pine Richland High School. Westinghouse Electric Company LLC sponsored the Longest Successfully Executed Contraption award, which went to Greater Latrobe Senior High School.

Congratulations to all of the schools that participated in the 2019-2020 contest and thanks to all of the volunteers and participants who made the event such a success.
