2020-2021 Contest

The 2020-2021 contest task was Hindsight is 2020! The teams all had the opportunity to use any task from the contest history. The contest was held virtually with the final round on Friday, December 11, 2020. Indian Creek High School received third place, Mohawk Area School District finished in second place, and congratulations to our first place team, Hempfield Area High School!

In addition to the finalist awards, many special awards were given out, with the winners receiving a tour of the award sponsor's facility. Pine Richland High School received the Best Presentation award, sponsored by Carnegie Mellon University. The Most Innovative award, sponsored by Jones Day, went to Hempfield Area High School. The Rookie of the Year award went to North Allegheny Intermediate High School and was sponsored by Carnegie Science Center. The Most Green machine was from Indian Creek High School, and the award was sponsored by ALCOSAN. Franklin Regional Senior High School received the Most Efficient Reset award, presented by Carnegie Science Center. Westinghouse Electric Company LLC sponsored the Longest Successfully Executed Contraption award, which went to Indian Creek High School.

Congratulations to all of the schools that participated in the 2020-2021 contest and thanks to all of the volunteers and participants who made the event such a success.
